The services
that we provide include the following, which can be profitable to you
in this area:

Financial
aid This service consists of meeting(s) with you to help
you gather information required by federal, state or college financial
aid application forms. We will (1) advise you on changes that you
can make to improve your financial aid amount; (2) advise you on the
interrelationship between tax law and financial aid law (certain tax
strategies can actually reduce your financial aid); (3) prepare your
application forms; and (4) prepare appeal letters (if you wish to
request reconsideration of your initial aid package).
- College
planning Ken
Hoopes is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He is able to provide
a service which includes: (1) meeting(s) with you to determine your
goals for saving for college expenses; (2) calculation of expected future
college costs; (3) calculation of monthly savings required to reach
your goals; and (4) recommended investments.
- Tax
preparation
This service includes: (1) meeting to review your income tax
information and determine what education tax benefits are available
to you; and (2) preparation of your federal, state, and city income
tax returns.
- Consultation
This service is for the "do-it-yourself" person and
consists of a scheduled appointment of 1/2 hour or more to discuss tax
or financial aid issues.
If you do
not have children headed for college, but you do have adult children and/or
grandchildren that need these services, please pass this information to
them. You may want to consider giving one of our services to them as a
gift.
We can also
advise you about how you can save estate and gift taxes by helping with
the cost of education.
